LRTL COVID19 Relief

Ladies Rocking the Lens Film Series  2020

In an effort to support healthcare professionals and families all over the world, the 2nd edition of Ladies Rocking the Lens Film Series featured a collection of some of the best projects from its festival’s archive to support relief against the pandemic. 100% of profits were split between the Global FoodBanking Network and the World Central Kitchen.

The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN), founded in 2006 by Bancos de Alimentos de México, Feeding America, Food Banks Canada, and Red Argentina de Bancos de Alimentos, now connects and empowers organizations in more than 30 countries that together rescue more than 1 billion pounds of food annually to feed 9 million people. According to The Global FoodBanking Network, The GFN “is supporting local food banks that are on the front lines of providing hunger relief during this crisis,” as a “COVID-19 response fund that so far has supported relief efforts in 43 countries.”

World Central Kitchen, a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters, was founded in 2010 by celebrity chef José Andrés. According to World Central Kitchen, “WCK has joined forces with initiatives to deliver fresh, hot meals to hospitals and clinics fighting on the frontlines.”

The only way for us to overcome this crisis is to come together.
